He’s popped the question and you’ve said yes! This is the happiest moment of your life.
Now for the important part…What are you going to wear? – The Bridal Village has you covered!
You want to look your absolute best but how should you prepare for your wedding dress fitting to ensure you not only choose the best dress for you but that you have a wonderful time doing it.
Below are 8 ways you can best prepare for the happiest day of your life…choosing your wedding dress!

1. Go Nude!
No I’m not suggesting you become a naturist, although I don’t judge if that’s your thing, but it’s a good idea to make sure you have the correct underwear on when you go for your fitting.
White or nude pants are best, try to make sure there’s no visible panty line and take along a high quality strapless bra. That way you can see the dresses at their best.

2. A Girls Best Friend
Some people will tell you its diamonds but I firmly believe its shoes. Shoes can make or break any event and trust me you don’t want them breaking the most special event of your life.
Trust us we want you to looking your best!
So make sure you’re realistic about the height of your heels and bring a similar shoe to your wedding dress fitting. Make sure they’re easy to slip on and off as you may not find the perfect dress first time and will probably try on more than one…Even if it’s just for fun.
3. Go Nude!
No it’s not a typo I’m back to talking naked! As that’s how most of us feel without our tan, bronzer and make-up.
However, this is essential to a successful wedding dress fitting. You don’t want to leave all that lovely tan over the pristine white dresses, the staff won’t appreciate it and trust me you need them on side if you don’t want to walk down the aisle looking like the doll on top of your nan’s toilet roll holder.
You wouldn’t want to ruin any of these amazing wedding dresses?
Some shops may let you wear some light make-up on your face but none on your neck and make sure you check with the boutique beforehand.
4. You’re my Best Friend
Make sure you have 1 to 3 friends by your side. And when I say friends I mean those who want you to look your absolute best and are capable of being completely honest without reducing you to tears, of sadness that is, tears of joy are essential!

5. It’s all About You
This is your day and while you (hopefully), want your bridesmaids to look gorgeous you don’t need to think about that at YOUR wedding dress fitting.
It’s so easy to get caught up in colours and styles and lose sight of why you’re there. Get rid of some stress by sorting yourself out first and the rest will fall into place.

6. A Bit of Bling
When you’ve chosen your dress, before taking it off, ask to see the boutiques range of accessories.
Very often bridal shops will have a fantastic collection that will fit perfectly with your dress and it’s great to have that ticked off the list.
Check out our Facebook page or website and see what other brides are wearing and see it there first!

7. Have a Good Hair Day
You may already know how you want to wear your hair on the day but bring along some hair clips so that you can easily change your hairstyle, up or down, to see what style best suits your dress.
